Help Alpha Survive Butterfly Skin Disease

Four years ago during a trip to Sierra Leone, I met a little boy named Alpha at our outpatient food therapy clinic.I love holding all the children who walk through our doors, but Alpha’s body was in such poor condition—covered in deep, raw, bleeding wounds—that for the first time in my life, I was afraid to hold him. His condition broke my heart, and he has never left my mind. Recently, while sitting by an outdoor public pool watching my own children swim, I was researching his symptoms on my phone. That is when I first discovered “Butterfly Skin” (Epidermolysis Bullosa)—a rare genetic condition where the skin is as fragile as a butterfly’s wings. Any minor friction or touch causes the skin to shear off into open sores. When I showed Alpha’s picture to my kids and told them the name of the disease, something miraculous happened. Butterflies suddenly swarmed the pool area. Ever since that day, butterflies continuously appear around me more than ever before. I am a God-fearing woman, and I know this is His unmistakable sign telling me: Keep going. Keep fighting for this child. Our Immediate Goal: $500 for 3 Months of Care. Alpha is now 6 years old and severely underweight because blistering in his mouth and throat makes eating agonizing. There is no cure, and specialized care is unavailable in Sierra Leone. But we can change his daily quality of life right now.Your donation will provide a verified, zero-cost protective routine for the next 3 months:Non-Stick Wound Care: Tubs of plain petroleum jelly (Vaseline) and saran wrap so his clothes do not fuse to his raw flesh. High-Calorie Soft Nutrition: Ingredients his mother can mash into smooth liquids (eggs, potatoes, avocados),and peanut paste so he can swallow without tearing his throat. Infection Control: Safe hygiene items for diluted baths to keep his wounds free of dangerous tropical bacteria. Alpha is fighting a battle no child should face. A gift of just $15 provides weeks of protective wraps. Please donate today and help us answer a mother’s prayers.
